2nd Team Matches 2011
2nd's v Leics 2nd's - League Match
Sunday 31st July 2011 - Lincs 2nd's played Leics 2nd's at Luffenham Heath in very hot, humid conditions. The team was Pam Watson, Lucy Atter, Kirsty Condon, Judith Ainsworth, India Clyburn, Jayne Crooks and Cindy Ireland. At lunch time the team came in 2-1 down in the foursomes, a valuable point being secured by Lucy and Judith. The team knew they had it all to do in the afternoon, needing 4 of the singles matches. After some very closely contested matches Lincs secured 4 out of the 6 singles with several going to the 18th, making Lincs victorious 5-4 and thereby winning the regional league. They now go on to the Midlands final on August 25th 2011 to be held at The Shropshire Golf Centre.
2nd's v Leics 2nd's - League Match
Wednesday 20th July 2011 - Lincs 2nd's played Leics 2nd's at Holme Hall. The team was Cindy Ireland, Pam Watson, Kirsty Condon, India Clyburn, Jayne Crooks & Hannah Edmunds. Once again the team got off to an excellent start winning all 3 foursomes although two went to the 18th. We knew we had tough matches in the afternoon against a young Leics side. All the singles were close but Lincs only managed to win 2 but this was enough to win the match overall 5-4.
2nd's v Notts 2nd's - League Match
Tuesday 12th July 2011 - Lincs 2nd's played Notts 2nd's at Normanby Hall. The team was Pam Watson, Jayne Crooks, Kirsty Condon, Hannah Edmunds, Alex Smith & Cindy Ireland. The team had a great morning winning all 3 foursomes. The afternoon singles proved to be a lot harder and Lincs only won 2 out of the 6 but won the match 5-4 overall.
2nd.s v Notts 2nd's League Match
Sunday 3rd July 2011 - Lincs 2nd's played Notts 2nd's at Hollinwell.
The team was Cindy Ireland, Pam Watson, Kirsty Condon, Lucy Atter,
Ann-Marie Coleman and Judith Ainsworth. Once again the team went in to lunch 2-1down after the morning foursomes but hoped to turn it around in the afternoon. They very nearly did winning 2 of the afternoon singles and halving 2 others so sadly losing 5-4 overall. A very close match played in very hot conditions and a definite advantage to the Notts team who had several "home" players in the team. Many thanks to all who played.
2nd's v Norfolk 2nd's
Friday 10th June 2011 - Lincs 2nd's played host to Norfolk 2nd's at Boston West. The team was Kirsty Condon, Emily Slater, Cindy Ireland, Julia Sales, Alex Smith & Judith Ainsworth. The team went in to lunch 2 -1 down after the morning foursomes which was played, at times, in torrential rain. They fought back well in the afternoon winning four of the singles matches and halving another. An overall result of 5.5 to 3.5 to Lincolnshire. Well played team.
2nd's v Cambs & Hunts
Tuesday April 5th - The 2nd team opened their season with a win at Blankney over Cambs and Hunts, 5˝ matches to 3˝. A great result on a very windy day. The team was Helen McDougall, Rita Broughton, Cindy Ireland, Pam Watson, Jayne Crooks and Alex Smith. Congratulations go to Alex who was making her debut for the second team and was the only member to win her singles match outright.
