Sophie Robinson recently played for the Vernum Trophy at Market Rasen Golf Club. Sophie was the defending trophy holder and this year was the only girl in a field of 10 juniors to compete. Sophie retained her title with a score of 57 stableford points and as a result of her success her handicap index has been reduced to 36.5 - well done Sophie, what an achievement and a great start to the season!
More fantastic news for Sophie Robinson this week. In a medal at Sleaford yesterday (13th April) Sophie shot a gross 103 (nett 64) reducing her handicap index further to 33.8 - keep up the great golf Sophie!

Congratulations to Abigail Scott on her handicap drop and fantastic win by 5 shots in the Belton Woods Junior Summer 9 hole Strokeplay competition. Abigail has reduced her handicap from 50 to 47.7 - great job, keep it going!
Sophie Robinson has done it again! Another win at Sleaford Golf Club on the 25th April in the Bratley Cup Ladies Par Bogey Competition shooting +5 reducing her handicap to 30.9 - an awesome achievement!
Ellie Horsted recently won the Quincentenary Cup (Pairs competition) at Belton Park with a nett 63 on 15th May - well done Ellie!
Abigail Scott has further reduced her handicap. Within the space of the last month Abigail's handicap has come down from 50 to 42 - a great achievement! 22/05/21
Congratulations to Ellie Horsted winning the Midlands South England Golf Women's Medal today 09/06/21 Ellie has also just been announced as Junior Vice Captain at Belton Park GC to support Captain, sister Emily.
Some great news forwarded from Sophie Hawkins school, St George's Academy. St George's Academy took to the South Kyme GC this week for the Lincolnshire Schools Golf Championships. After scoring a massive 45 points Sophie (Year 8) was announced the Moria Rickaby Trophy (Nett) Girls' Champion - Fantastic news Sophie!
Congratulations Livia Piner scoring 46 points in the England Golf Trust National Stableford club qualifier at Elsham GC. Livia has dropped her handicap to 12.6 - Well done!
Congratulations to Kenwick Park Golf Club’s Abigail on winning the Silver Salver Trophy today (the Junior Championship Nett trophy)
Inspirational Abigail Scott from Kenwick Park Golf Club has been named as the Hero’s Handshake award winner for July.
The Hero’s Handshake award recognises young people in golf who show commitment and dedication to the game and who help others by promoting a positive image of the sport.
This award does not look to honour those who pick up trophies, but instead thanks those individuals who support the game.
Monthly winners are selected by the Young Ambassadors – a group of young men and women aged 14-22 dedicated to championing the game and looking at golf from a junior perspective.

Abigail’s passion and dedication to golf on and off the course and her achievements in recruiting new girls into the sport were what most impressed the Young Ambassadors.
The 13-year-old is dedicated to combating the misconceptions about young female golfers in the game and has, through her volunteering, shown the drive to get more girls involved in the sport.
Abigail dedicates herself to the game and has become a Junior Ambassador for Kenwick Park near Louth in Lincolnshire where she encourages and sets an example to academy juniors.
Her passion for junior golf became even more evident when she took her love of sport to her secondary school’s physical education department.
There she handed out Girls Golf Rocks coaching session flyers resulting in two girls in her class now taking up the sport. Incredible news!
Abigail’s teacher, Lara Shoubridge, commented: “Abigail’s drive and commitment is truly impressive, she has inspired classmates, developed her own game and remained modest and humble.”
The Lincolnshire golfer was presented with the award after a coaching session in front of the academy juniors and their parents by Young Ambassador and Hero’s Handshake project lead Katie Amos.
After receiving the award, Abigail said “I want to keep on playing golf and get my handicap down. The junior section at Kenwick is a friendly and welcoming place where parents feel it’s a safe environment.”
The teenager is also a future star, dropping her handicap index from 54 to 17 in just over a year and winning the Lincolnshire Under 14 County Championships.
Ellie Horsted keeps on winning. Playing in the Junior Club Championships at Belton Park Golf Club, Ellie won the best gross over 36 holes. Well played
