LVLGA News

We had over 40 Ladies sign up for our 3 matches this year and I was pleased to give everybody one or two games.

Our first match was home at South Kyme G.C. against the Northants Ladies. The course was in very good condition but we didn’t do it justice, losing 6 ½ & 1 ½. The Fish & Chip meal afterwards was excellent.

The second match resulted in another defeat this time 5 & 3 (not quite so heavily). The venue was away at Longcliffe G.C. against Leicester and Rutland on an undulating very interesting course.
The salad meal rounded off a very pleasant day.

Success, at last, in our final game, home at Lincoln G.C (Torksey) against Nottinghamshire. We won by the narrowest of margins 4 ½ - 3 ½ on a course in good condition.
There was a fabulous Cold Buffett to follow which attracted praise from both teams.

Looking ahead to next year, the committee have decided that all sign-ups for matches should be completed by March 31^st 2020. This will resolve the problem of players not signing up until the Spring Meeting (only 2 weeks before the first match).

The last match for the LVLGA was played on what was a lovely day at Sleaford, once again LVLGA Captain Nicky Plumtree had managed to find a dry day between what have been some dreadful downpours.

 Played with the usual good humour and golfing spirit with 4 of the matches going to the 18th as halved, the final match was the decider with The County Ladies winning giving a 4 & 3 win overall.

 Thanks to Sleaford Golf Club for their hospitality and a very nice meal to finish the day
